Lions and Tigers and……

Sometimes getting a dog out of boarding and into a foster home makes all the difference in the world!

It sure has with Flurry!

Can I get a boost please?

Our beautiful young Bull Terrier had too much energy to be confined to a kennel run, so we were thrilled when one of our vet’s staff and his roommate agreed to foster.

They have been working with Flurry every day and it shows! When out of the crate at adoptions last week, she was very well behaved; even wanted to befriend Sandy, our female Rottie pup with an attitude!

We are also told that Flurry has made two dog friends in her neighborhood. Now that doesn’t mean that Flurry will do well in a house with multiple pets—she will probably need to be an only dog—but she is transforming from what was a loveable Tasmanian Devil to a sweet young lady!

This doesn't feel right.

For those who love smaller dogs, we have three new arrivals! Joey is a beautiful creamy vanilla colored Chihuahua, Larson is a very sweet and calm Manchester Terrier, and our newest, is Priscilla, a really sweet and gentle Papillion that we pulled on her last day at the South LA Shelter.

Come and visit these and our other Dawg Squad dogs at our new location—Centinela Feed atn 8655 Lincoln Blvd., just South of Manchester next to Ralph’s in Westchester. As always, we’re there every Saturday from 11:00 – 3:00.

Every once in awhile, the Dawg Squad people like to leave the dogs at home and go out and have some fun.

Last Sunday, we visited Shambala, a sanctuary for homeless lions, tigers, leopards, and other large exotic cats located in Acton. While wonderful to see all the beautiful cats, it was interesting, and disturbing, to learn about the irresponsible breeding and trade of these magnificent animals. To learn more about Shambala and the good work they do, go to http://www.shambala.org.

Finally, Dawg Squad is having our annual Yard Sale this Sunday, August 28th. Please stop by to check out our treasures and say hi! The address is 11101 Clover Ave., Los Angeles. We’ll be starting at 8:00. Hope to see you there!
